The group frequently works with other members of the Navy Propulsor Team including Electric Boat’s shock, hydrodynamics, shafting and bearing engineering, and ship signatures departments, Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory, and Navy laboratories.

Duties include creating and checking engineering calculations, evaluation and adjudication of vendor manufacturing and installation issues, preparation of written engineering procedures in support of shipyard installation efforts, and design of GFE and shipyard lifting, handling and transportation hardware. Occasional travel to Washington DC or vendor sites may be required.
