$140,000–$160,000 base + discretionary bonus

Why This Controller Role?This is an opportunity to step into a key finance leadership role with a 75+ year, family‑owned construction company that has seen significant growth in recent years. The position is open due to a planned retirement, creating a smooth transition and long‑term runway for the right person.
Responsibilities- Lead all accounting and finance functions, including AP, AR, payroll, billing, and general ledger
- Manage and support a team of approximately 4–5 accounting professionals
- Own the month‑end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning
- Provide clear, actionable financial insights to support operational decision‑making
- Improve accounting processes and workflows as the organization continues to grow
- Maintain a strong hands‑on presence while also contributing at a strategic level
- Serve as a trusted finance partner across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or related field)
- Experience in construction is highly preferred, though strong candidates from other industries will be considered
- Background in a Controller, Finance Manager, or similar hands‑on finance leadership role
- Comfortable working in Quick Books
- Proven ability to balance detail‑oriented execution with higher‑level thinking
- Experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Someone who values collaboration, stability, and long‑term impact
- $140,000–$160,000 base salary (target around $150K) + discretionary bonus
- Hybrid schedule – 3 days onsite in Norwalk
- Flexible work hours
