The Behavioral Intervention & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with behavioral intervention, restraint reduction, disability rights, and student safety requirements. The Coordinator provides oversight of behavior support practices, restraint review processes, Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), staff training, corrective action planning, data analysis, and regulatory reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Behavioral Intervention Oversight- Provide region-wide oversight of behavioral intervention practices, including 8 schools.
- Review and evaluate the appropriateness, quality, and effectiveness of FBAs and BIPs.
- Provide coaching, technical assistance, and feedback to personnel responsible for conducting FBAs and developing BIPs which includes BCBAs and Social Workers.
- Identify trends and opportunities to strengthen positive behavioral supports and reduce restrictive interventions.
- Review all physical restraint incidents within required timelines.
- Evaluate whether incidents complied with organizational policies and applicable requirements.
- Review Incident Reports, supporting documentation, debrief records, wellness checks, and follow-up actions.
- Identify policy violations, implementation concerns, training needs, and systemic issues.
- Partner with school leaders to develop corrective action plans following incidents.
- Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Maintain oversight of the organization’s behavioral incident database.
- Ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy.
- Analyze incident data trends across schools and programs.
- Use data to guide decision-making and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure behavioral data informs the development and revision of FBAs and BIPs.
- Facilitate recurring behavioral review meetings with school leadership and relevant staff.
- Develop improvement plans and monitor progress.
- Serve as the organization’s lead trainer for behavioral intervention compliance.
- Maintain trainer-level certification in approved crisis prevention/restraint methodologies.
- Develop and oversee annual training programs.
- Coach school leaders on compliance expectations and best practices.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and identify ongoing learning needs.
- Monitor implementation of behavioral supports designed to reduce crisis situations.
- Help ensure behavioral interventions align with student needs and educational programming.
- Verify required parent notifications and documentation following behavioral incidents.
- Review documentation associated with student removals and parent-requested pickups.
- Monitor compliance with family communication requirements.
- Ensure follow-up actions and reviews are appropriately documented.
