Our client, a leading global hedge fund based in Connecticut, is looking to add a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). This position will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and key business units across the firm. This role supports core infrastructure functions including Fund Accounting, Tax, Financial Reporting, Operations, and Technology, while partnering closely with investment leadership. The HRBP will help drive talent strategy, workforce planning, performance management, and organizational effectiveness within a high-performance hedge fund environment.
Responsibilities- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership across Fund Accounting, Tax, Reporting, Operations, and Technology teams on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy
- Partner with department heads to support performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for accounting, finance, operations, and technology professionals in collaboration with external search firms and internal stakeholders
- Advise managers on employee relations matters, providing thoughtful guidance aligned with firm culture and regulatory considerations
- Manage annual compensation and bonus processes, including benchmarking for accounting, operational, and technical roles
- Collaborate with Finance on headcount planning, budgeting, and compensation analytics
- Develop and refine HR policies, procedures, and controls to support regulated fund environments
- Support onboarding and integration efforts to ensure new hires are effectively embedded into highly specialized functional teams
- Partner with Technology leadership on workforce planning, systems-related initiatives, and change management efforts
- Drive cross-functional HR projects including process improvements, system implementations, and employee engagement initiatives
- 8–15 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within hedge funds, asset management, private equity, or alternative investments
- Demonstrated experience supporting infrastructure functions such as Fund Accounting, Tax, Reporting, Operations, or Technology
- Strong understanding of compensation frameworks for accounting, finance, and technology professionals within investment management
- Experience advising managers on performance management and employee relations in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations within financial services
- Ability to build credibility with both investment professionals and infrastructure teams
- Strong analytical skills with comfort interpreting compensation and headcount data
- Proficiency in HR systems and advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification or advanced degree preferred
