RoleThis role is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to drive change, modernize pipelines, and set technical direction for how Dev Ops is done. You’ll be the go-to Dev Ops engineer supporting five SaaS engineering teams building AWS-native, serverless applications. You’ll own CI/CD, infrastructure automation, security, and reliability — and you’ll be trusted to fix what needs fixing without being told.
You will drive the Dev Ops roadmap. Pipelines need improvement. Some need to be rebuilt from scratch. Legacy systems need modernization. Automation needs to be taken further. You’ll lead that transformation. The environment feels like a startup engineering team — small, fast-moving, and hands-on — but backed by a profitable, long-established company in a recession-proof industry.
The Dev Ops function is evolving and expanding — not frozen in time. Pipelines need modernization (some will be rebuilt from scratch). Legacy systems are being migrated to cloud-native designs. Automation is a priority, not a buzzword here.
You’ll support multiple SaaS teams building AWS-native, serverless applications
You’ll be trusted to make decisions and drive improvements
If you like fixing systems, improving architectures, and making things run better without being micromanaged, you’ll fit here.
Responsibilities- Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines across multiple engineering teams
- Design and automate AWS infrastructure using Terraform (or Open Tofu)
- Rebuild parts of the pipeline where needed
- Push automation deeper into everything — builds, deployments, security, monitoring
- Migrate older systems to modern cloud architectures
- Partner directly with software engineers
- Make technical decisions and explain the “why” behind them
- Improve reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Step in and solve problems instead of waiting for tickets
- 6+ years building and operating AWS infrastructure
- Strong scripting (Bash required, Python a big plus)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Cloud Formation)
- Real CI/CD experience (Code Pipeline, Code Build, or similar)
- Deep understanding of AWS services in production
- SaaS platform experience
- Security awareness (IAM, WAF, KMS, Guard Duty, Cloud Trail, etc.)
- Comfort working across multiple engineering teams
Engineers from startups or mid-size product companies will thrive in this enviornment.
