Position Summary
IT Support Technician – Seasonal – Lake Compounce.
Responsible for set‑up and maintenance of networking systems for Lake Compounce IT infrastructure, providing support for special events, and installing and modifying office and park computer hardware and software systems.
Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation activities with minimal supervision, including assembling and installing new personal computers, peripheral equipment, networks, and communication equipment.
- Provide direct user support for software and hardware needs for assigned users.
- Support computer equipment and LAN units requiring use of standard interface protocols.
- Assist with installation, cabling, user support, backups, and IT documentation.
- Configure various IT systems (workstations) throughout organization facilities and festival grounds.
- Perform preventive maintenance for computer, data communication, and peripheral equipment; test and adjust to appropriate standards.
- Fabricate cables for interfacing peripherals with computers and networks.
- Maintain computer network documentation and update maintenance manuals as needed.
- Provide status updates on requests and projects to leadership or end users via voicemail, email, or in‑person communication.
- Communicate outages and estimated correction times to internal and external IT stakeholders.
- Assist with take‑down, removal, or storage of workstations for festivals and events.
- Maintain PCI standards and compliance with applicable hardware/software requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent;
Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or technical certification in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred. - 1–2 years of work experience as an IT Technician or support role preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Previous IT Help Desk experience a plus.
- Previous POS setup/troubleshooting skills a plus.
- Fluent written and spoken English;
Spanish or other bilingual skills a plus. - At least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and extend hours beyond 9AM‑5PM during operating season.
- Exceptional customer‑service skills and the ability to resolve questions, problems, and concerns professionally.
- Ability to handle high‑pressure situations, meet constant deadlines, and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong technical aptitude with hardware, software, and office equipment; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and attention‑to‑detail skills; ability to prioritize, triage, and resolve IT issues and emergencies.
- Ability to follow directions, multi‑task, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to remain seated, stand, walk, and be on feet for extended periods; frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
- Capacity to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50pounds or more.
- Consistent use of hands to grasp, control, and move objects/tools.
- Work in an office setting with frequent exposure to indoor and outdoor park locations.
- Subject to extended work hours to complete time‑sensitive IT requests; working extra hours weekly typical, especially during operating season.
- Work in cluttered or confined IT and server spaces.
- Exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions.
- Frequent interruptions, repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments.
- Exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agents.
