Head of Global Payroll

Location: Greenwich, CT | Hybrid (in office Monday–Thursday, remote optional Fridays)

Compensation: $160,000 - $220,000 base salary + annual bonus + equity

Our client, a leading financial services firm headquartered in Greenwich, CT, is seeking a Head of Global Payroll to lead its worldwide payroll function. This is a newly elevated, highly visible SME, leadership role that partners directly with Finance, Tax, Treasury, HR, Legal, and Technology to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll delivery across multiple countries. This is an opportunity to shape payroll strategy at the executive level, modernize systems and processes, and build a high‑performing global team.

• Lead global payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Oversee payroll accounting, internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit readiness
• Manage relationships with third‑party payroll providers and lead payroll technology initiatives and system upgrades
• Oversee payroll processing, equity compensation administration, tax reporting, and year‑end filings (W‑2s, international equivalents)
• Drive continuous process improvement and build/develop a high‑performing payroll team
• Serve as a strategic partner to Finance, Tax, Treasury, HR, Legal, and Technology leadership

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience, including multi‑state U.S. and global/multi‑jurisdiction payroll
• Strong knowledge of payroll accounting, SOX controls, regulatory compliance, and equity compensation
• Proven experience leading payroll teams and managing outsourced/third‑party payroll providers
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) strongly preferred
• Experience with [insert payroll/HRIS systems, e.g., Workday, ADP Global View, SAP] a plus
