About The CEO Council

—The CEO Council is a CEO-only membership organization built on a simple premise: chief executives make better decisions, build stronger organizations, and lead more fulfilling professional lives when they have access to a trusted community of peers who understand what it means to sit in the chair.

—Founded in 2006, The CEO Council convenes chief executives for confidential, candid conversations about the strategic and leadership challenges shaping their organizations and industries. Our membership is CEO-only—no vendors, no pitching, no substitutes. Members are CEOs, Presidents, Executive Directors, and business owners leading organizations with ten to thousands of employees, and are seated with peers leading organizations of similar scale.

—Our state-chapter model grounds conversations in the regulatory, economic, and talent environment where members operate—not generic peer dialogue, but insight relevant to the decisions they face now. Membership ranges from the Annual State CEO Summit, open to CEOs statewide, to CEO Exchanges and private CEO Peer Advisory Boards using our proprietary decision-support process.

—The CEO Council is now expanding nationally, with new chapters planned in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, DC, and additional chapters to follow. Each chapter is led by a local President & CEO who serves as its chief executive, chief evangelist, and primary convener of the state’s CEO community.

The Role

—This is not a conventional position. It is a leadership platform for a seasoned executive to step into a highly visible role in Connecticut’s business community and build something of lasting value.

—You would serve as President & CEO of The CEO Council of Connecticut, an LLC owned by The CEO Council, Inc. (HQ). HQ provides the brand, infrastructure, systems, proven methodologies, training, launch support, and ongoing mentorship. You provide the leadership, relationships, and entrepreneurial drive to transform those assets into a thriving Connecticut CEO community.

—The pre-launch period leading to the inaugural event may require more time than the role requires once the chapter matures. As recurring membership revenue stabilizes, the schedule becomes increasingly flexible and self-directed. At mature membership levels, chapter presidents largely design their own schedules, creating an attractive long-term platform for an experienced executive seeking ownership over both time and earning potential.

Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive membership growth
—personally recruit, engage, and close CEO, President, Executive Director, and business owner prospects using proven CEO-to-CEO outreach and relationship-development methods, tools, and templates.
  • Serve as the public face of the chapter
—build its visibility, reputation, and credibility throughout Connecticut’s business community.
  • Curate and lead high-caliber CEO experiences
—with HQ support as needed, select compelling topics, recruit guest executives for Fire Side Chats, and oversee Connecticut CEO Summits, CEO Exchanges, and other CEO-only events.
  • Build your chapter team
—with HQ help, recruit, train, and manage independent contractors, including roundtable moderators, Peer Board Chairs, and an Executive Assistant if desired.
  • Own the chapter P&L—manage financial performance and report to The CEO Council HQ board of directors.
Compensation & Structure

—Each state chapter is a wholly owned LLC of The CEO Council, Inc., a Delaware corporation. As President & CEO of the Connecticut chapter, you are a W-2 employee of The CEO Council of Connecticut, LLC. The role’s flexible time demands may also work well for executives with established advisory practices or existing business entities, subject to the employment agreement.

—Compensation includes:

  • A fixed base salary, with or without benefits, determined by the chapter’s projected size and gross profits.
  • A substantial percentage of chapter net income, paid as a quarterly bonus—creating significant upside as membership…
