PDC International Corp., located in Norwalk, CT, engineers, manufactures and distributes machinery for applying heat‑shrinkable tamper‑evident seals and sleeve labels worldwide to customers such as Kraft Foods, Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Nestle. PDC also fabricates both hot/air and steam shrink tunnels.

Job Description

The electrical assembly technician will be responsible for wiring industrial electrical panels, routing cables through machinery, and testing motors and other electrical components. They will also assist in testing the finalized equipment.

Job Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous electrical experience is required, at least 2 years.
  • Prior knowledge of National Electrical Code is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC code is preferred.
  • Motivated self‑starter, requiring initiative and ingenuity.
  • Ability to assemble, test, and debug complex electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to use a multimeter and test and debug equipment during initial power up.
  • Ability to read and properly interpret electrical schematics.
  • Will be required to layout and build industrial electrical panels from scratch, mounting wire duct and components and wiring in accordance with the schematics.
  • Will review and work with electrical engineers to correct and modify schematics as needed.
  • Needs to follow assembly standards and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, no assembly line work.
  • Proficient in the safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work as a team with multiple departments and adapt to varying workloads.
  • Ability to work within project budgetary guidelines and schedule.
  • Will assist and/or conduct factory acceptance tests with customers to validate equipment.
  • Position requires physical ability to support project tasks ranging from equipment positioning and alignment to equipment skidding and wrapping for shipment; must be able to lift 75 lb as required.
  • Comfortable with basic computer skills, file navigation, viewing and printing assembly drawings, and basic use of Microsoft Office.
  • Clear and positive communicator; communicates project needs to direct manager.
Compensation
  • $23 to $25 an hour, rate based upon experience.
