MARINE TECHNICIAN – Mechanical/Electrical/Composites

LBI is seeking Marine Systems Technicians with experience or trainees for on‑site work. The position offers a wage range of $18+ per hour for trainees and up to $30 per hour for skilled personnel, plus benefits.

• Blueprint and specification reading
• Measurement and layout
• Mechanical fabrication, assembly, and installation
• Electrical fabrication, assembly, and installation
• Carpentry
• Machining, including manual and CNC machines and routers
• Cutting, fitting, and assembly using power tools (saws, drills, routers, grinders, etc.)
• Bonding, sealing using epoxy, vinyl ester, urethane, and silicone compounds
• Surface preparation for coating and bonding (abrasive materials, blasting, chemical etching, etc.) and fabrication of patterns, plugs, and molds
• Composite molding: hand lay‑up, vacuum resin infusion, and vacuum bag molding of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass
• Surface preparation by sanding, blasting, and etching
• Application of coating by brush, roller, or spray
• Safety, environmental, and hazmat compliance
• Perform production inspections and complete required paperwork

• 6‑month on‑the‑job training program available for qualified candidates
• Pre‑employment testing and references required
• Experience in one or more of the following: boat repair, carpentry, composites, machining, mechanical, autobody, painting
• Team‑player with effective communication skills, positive attitude, and a commitment to learning
• Overtime required; excellent work ethic necessary
