Working alongside engineering and production teams, you'll drive quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery while continuously refining processes.
What You’ll Do Programming & Setup- Develop, refine, and optimize CNC EDM programs (wire and/or sinker EDM) from CAD models and engineering prints
- Interpret 3D models and 2D drawings to define machining strategies, tool paths, and fixturing approaches
- Select electrodes, tooling, and setups to achieve dimensional and surface finish requirements
- Perform program prove-outs and make real-time adjustments for quality and efficiency
- Operate CNC EDM equipment to produce parts to specification within tight tolerances and timelines
- Monitor machine performance, tool wear, and process stability; troubleshoot and adjust as needed
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM, optical equipment)
- Create and maintain setup sheets and process documentation for repeatability and knowledge transfer
- Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists, and engineers to resolve issues and enhance manufacturability
- Ensure all parts meet print, functional, and cosmetic requirements
- Maintain 5S standards and cleanliness around EDM equipment and work areas
- Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve quality; implement process enhancements
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective action initiatives
- Perform routine EDM machine maintenance (filters, dielectric fluid checks, basic diagnostics)
- Report equipment issues promptly and partner with maintenance teams
- Uphold all safety protocols, including proper PPE use and safe material handling
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining or manufacturing preferred
- 3+ years of hands‑on CNC EDM programming and operating experience (wire, sinker, or both), ideally in a tooling or precision manufacturing setting
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency with CNC EDM machines and control systems; familiarity with CAM software
- Strong grasp of EDM machining principles, electrode selection, and process variables
- Solid foundation in precision measurement and inspection techniques
- Competence with computer skills for programming, documentation, and data management
- Meticulous attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to quality
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and mechanical intuition
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Excellent communicator who thrives collaborating across teams and departments
- Self‑directed and capable of working independently with minimal oversight
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift tooling and components (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and shop materials
Be part of a group that values precision, innovation, and continuous improvement in a collaborative, team centric environment that values a work‑life balance philosophy.
