Infection Control/Wound Nurse

About the Role:

As an Infection Control/Wound Nurse, you'll be responsible for:

  • Infection Prevention: Developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff.

  • Wound Care: Providing wound care services, including assessment, treatment, and education to residents, as well as collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop care plans.

  • Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data to identify trends and track the effectiveness of infection control and wound care programs.

  • Education and Training: Educating staff on infection control practices and wound care techniques to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimal care outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain infection control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Conduct wound assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

  • Provide wound care services, including dressing changes, wound cleansing, and debridement.

  • Analyze data to identify trends and track the effectiveness of infection control and wound care programs.

  • Educate staff on infection control practices and wound care techniques to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimal care outcomes.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize care outcomes and reduce readmissions.

Requirements:
  • experience as an Infection Control/Wound Nurse

  • RN degree in Nursing or related field

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Connecticut

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
