Registered Nurse; RN; OR General Surgery

Role Overview:

Provides direct nursing care as an Operating Room Nurse, supporting surgical teams and ensuring patient safety.

• Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs to deliver individualized care.
• Review charts for completeness and adhere to documentation protocols before and after surgery.
• Prepare the operating room, check and troubleshoot equipment, and maintain sterilization standards.
• Position and prepare patients on the operating table, monitor vital signs, and ensure safety precautions.
• Pass instruments and assist surgeons during procedures while maintaining sterile techniques.
• Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians for seamless care.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
• Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Operating Room Nurse; scrub experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, patient safety, and surgical procedures.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Team player committed to high standards of care.
