The Veterinary Radiologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic imaging services for small companion animals, including but not limited to dogs and cats. The role involves performing and interpreting X-rays, ultrasounds (USG), computed tomography (CT) scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The Veterinary Radiologist will collaborate with veterinary specialists and general practitioners to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnostic Imaging/Surgical care
- Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies including X-rays, USG, CT scans, and MRI for small companion animals.
- Utilize advanced imaging techniques and protocols to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ensure proper stress-free patient positioning and safety during imaging procedure
- Perform/help in surgical procedure in cases of emergency
Collaboration:
- Work closely with veterinary specialists, surgeons, and general practitioners to discuss imaging findings and provide diagnostic insights.
- Participate in case discussions, rounds, and multidisciplinary meetings to contribute to comprehensive patient care plans.
- Provide guidance and support to veterinary staff and technicians in the preparation and execution of imaging procedures.
- Generate detailed and accurate radiology reports for each imaging study.
- All records of USG (Ultrasonography) charts, forms, reports, consent letters and all other documents required to be maintained under PC PNDT Act 1994 and the rules shall be preserved for a period of two years or for such period as may be prescribed.
- Maintain comprehensive patient records and documentation in accordance with practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate findings effectively to referring veterinarians and pet parents.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in veterinary diagnostic imaging technology and techniques.v
- Implement and adhere to quality control procedures and protocols.
- Provide compassionate care and support to pet-patients and pet-parents during imaging procedures.
- Educate pet parents about the diagnostic process, findings, and implications for their pet’s health.
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance expertise in veterinary radiology.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and training sessions.
- Contribute to the education and training of veterinary interns, residents, and technicians.
- Masters of Veterinary Surgery/Medicine/PG Diploma in small animal ultrasound or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Veterinary Radiology.
- Proven experience of minimum of 2 and maximum of 7 years of experience in performing and interpreting X-rays, USG, CT scans, and MRI in small companion animals.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy, pathology, and diagnostic imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
