Veterinary Assistant

Aspetuck Animal Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Aspetuck Animal Hospital, a Rarebreed partner, is a busy 3+ doctor, AAHA Accredited, full-service veterinary hospital, and boarding facility located in the beautiful town of New Preston, CT. Our technologically advanced and progressive practice offers in-house diagnostics, digital radiography, acupuncture, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, and a full surgical suite performing routine procedures, soft tissue procedures, and orthopedics. Our dedicated and friendly staff is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and health-related educational opportunities for our clients.

Aspetuck Animal Hospital in New Preston, CT

$18.00
-25.00 an hour (based on experience)

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
• Perform physical assessments and record your observations
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of prior experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred
• Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people
