The Shore and Country Club is seeking an engaging, organized, and service-oriented Retail & Racquets Center Associate to support the daily operations of our Racquets Center and The Shore Shop, the Club's retail pro shop.
This dynamic, member-facing position offers a unique blend of retail, sports and recreation, merchandising, marketing support, and hospitality. From assisting members and coordinating racquets activities to supporting merchandise displays, inventory, tournaments, and special events, the Associate will have the opportunity to contribute to many aspects of the member experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and has an interest or background in sports, retail, marketing, merchandising, recreation, or hospitality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide warm, professional, and attentive service to members and guests.
Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for merchandise, court reservations, schedules, clinics, programs, tournaments, and other racquets activities.
Process retail transactions for Club apparel, accessories, racquets equipment, and other merchandise.
Support inventory operations, including receiving deliveries, stocking and organizing merchandise, and maintaining accurate inventory.
Assist with merchandise presentation, retail promotions, signage, and other initiatives that enhance The Shore Shop experience.
Assist members with court reservations, program registration, clinic sign-ups, and general inquiries.
Support the promotion of racquets programs, tournaments, retail offerings, and special events through signage, displays, member communications, and other marketing initiatives.
Support racquets professionals with tournaments, events, program registration, member check-in, and daily operational needs.
Help coordinate the smooth flow of court activity and daily Racquets Center operations.
Maintain a polished, organized, and member-ready environment throughout The Shore Shop, Racquets Center, courts, spectator areas, and surrounding facilities.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Racquets Department as needed.
Consistently uphold The Shore and Country Club's standards for professionalism, hospitality, and member service.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, polished, and professional demeanor.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an active, member-facing environment.
Comfortable taking initiative, contributing ideas, and working both independently and collaboratively.
Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn point-of-sale, reservation, and registration systems.
Previous experience in retail, sports or recreation, marketing, merchandising, hospitality, customer service, or a related area is preferred but not required.
Interest in tennis, pickleball, retail, sports, merchandising, marketing, or event operations is a plus.
Candidates with transferable experience and a strong service mindset are encouraged to apply.
Position Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding instructions and information.
Must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and a strong commitment to member service.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on Club operations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise, equipment, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position requires regular bending, reaching, stooping, stocking, and other physical activity associated with retail and racquets operations.
The work environment is active and member-facing, with a moderate noise level typical of a recreational and hospitality setting.
