• Oversee break rotations, patrolling, and documentation.
• Supervise the security team and related departments.
• Lead by example and represent Lake Compounce core values.
• Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts.
• Backfill essential duties of all security positions when needed.
• Participate in new‑hire training activities.
• Ensure all required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Connecticut law.
• Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities.

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
• Perform access control and personal property inspections at park entrance and exits.
• Report irregularities to prevent losses and damage.
• Patrol park grounds and parking lots.
• Assist attendants with traffic duties as needed.
• Enforce parking lot rules and regulations.
• Identify potential security risks and threats.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls.
• Enforce park rules and regulations.

• Connecticut Guard Card is required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• College degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline desired.
• 2+ years of previous security, criminal justice, or related experience highly desired.
• Experience equivalence considered.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to fill in for third shift (overnight) if required.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with good record.
• Ability to safely operate motorized vehicles and equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
  Spanish or other bilingual skills a plus.
• Ability to apply security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note‑taking techniques.
• Fair, objective, and courteous interaction with the public.
• Rapid assessment and action in tense situations.
• Proficient with electronic equipment such as cameras, radios, and computers.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Keep required certifications up to date.

• Stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of shift.
• Occasional stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, squatting, or reaching above shoulders.
• Walk, stand, or run on uneven surfaces.
• Stand or sit for extended periods while using computer/camera equipment.
• Lift, push, pull, or hold objects up to 30 pounds.
• Good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.
• Ok vision of details beyond a few feet distance.

• Work in office and public park environments.
• Exposure to variable outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
• Subject to dark environments, especially midnight shift.
• Repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and crowds.
• Frequent interruptions and priority re‑adjustments.

• Flexible schedule.
• Cross‑training and skill development across departments.
