Compensation: $33.46 - $52.28 per hour (based on education and experience).

As part of the Mars Petcare Veterinary Health team, this role supports hospital locations within the New York/Connecticut area. Applicants must live within 30 minutes of the area.

Why This Role Matters

The Hospital Maintenance Technician ensures hospital facilities in the region are maintained in good condition and working order by identifying, managing, and performing facility and medical equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.

You Will
  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Identify, manage, perform, measure, schedule and track facility repair and preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with practice standards.
  • Perform tasks including painting and cove base installation, cabinetry/laminate repairs, drywall/ceiling repairs, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, lighting maintenance, flooring maintenance, and manage ceramic tile floor care program.
  • Source, select, hire, and manage painting contractors and other vendors.
  • Perform medical equipment preventive maintenance on various equipment.
  • Inspect, document, and report facility damages, repairs, structural conditions, and construction plan variances.
  • Regularly provide clear communication of repairs, projects, and service work updates to managers and field leaders.
  • Purchase and keep inventory of needed maintenance materials.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements within MVH guidelines and budget; some travel required.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Facilities Management or related field is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in Construction or Maintenance.
  • Working knowledge and experience of construction terms, blueprints, electrical, plumbing, casework, and general building construction.
  • Experience with building construction power tools, electrical, plumbing, drywall repair, paint, cabinetry, laminate, vinyl composition tile (VCT), and ceramic flooring installation and repair.
  • Ability to read and understand building plans and specifications.
Salary Range

$33.46 - $62.74 per hour. Compensation determined based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
