Description
Greater Norwalk Head Start / Early Head Start, a program of the Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc., seeks a full‑time Mental Health and Disabilities Services Professional. The position is responsible for ensuring that programs meet 100 % of the related Federal Performance Standards, including services to children with mental health concerns and behavior issues and their families; development and monitoring of children’s IEP or IFSP progress;
collaboration with the Management team and Teaching staff; and parent education, whether group or case‑by‑case, for special‑needs children. The role includes providing classroom support for children with mental health needs and IEP supports, leading annual developmental screenings such as the ASQ, and coordinating services with Birth‑to‑Three and Norwalk Public Schools to ensure push‑in and child busing services are successful.
Minimum qualifications:
BA in a related field and at least one year of relevant work experience, or equivalency (MA in Counseling strongly preferred). Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged.
