Retail Sales Associate

Overview

Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for Retail Store Associates to support donations processing, merchandising, cashiering, and delivering outstanding customer service with our values of love, kindness, and respect. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers on the sales floor or at the donation door.

Job :

Number of Openings: 1

• Greet, assist, and engage with customers in a helpful and courteous manner
• Receive donations from the public
• Sort donations, organize merchandise, ensure quality standards, and rotate items on the sales floor
• Operate the cash register and practice safe cash handling; balance cash as scheduled
• Carry out general cleaning tasks (sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, mopping)
• Use equipment such as dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and possibly riding or walk-behind forklift
• Meet daily production goals
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or current enrollment, or equivalent combination of military service, high school, or related full-time paid employment
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to tolerate variations in work environment temperature
• Be at least 16 years of age
• Effective communication and basic math skills; POS experience a plus
• Must pass criminal background checks as required

• Starting wage: $14.50/hour, plus an additional $1.00/hour on Saturday and Sunday shifts
• Monthly Retail Associate bonus eligibility based on store production and revenue goals
• Annual merit increase eligibility based on performance
• Retail Career Development Pathways include roles such as Retail Shift Leader, Engagement Coordinator, E-Commerce Coordinator, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager-In-Training, Store Manager, and District Manager

This position requires a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
