Position: Maintenance Technician - Entry Level  to Senior Level

Job Title:Maintenance Technician 1 & Maintenance Tech 3

Location: Norwalk, IA

As a Maintenance Technician
, you will performance basic maintenance troubleshooting in order to identify problems and determine the best course of action to fix them;

Familiarity with a wide variety of tools and equipment used (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and power tools (drills, grinders) Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices to ensure equipment runs efficiently and reduce the chance of breakdowns. Performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks to extend the life of equipment. Understanding of workplace safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices, especially when handling hazardous materials or working with heavy machinery familiar with hand tolls. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly Quality Assurance and Operations, to promote and support food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.

Pay:

  • Maintenance Tech 1: $19 - $21
  • Maintenance Tech 3: $24 - $27

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Tuesday to Saturday
Maintenance Technician 1

This is an entry-level maintenance position responsible for supporting general maintenance activities and learning the fundamentals of plant equipment and maintenance operations.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including greasing equipment, basic plumbing, painting, sharpening knives, replacing light bulbs and locks, and unclogging filters.
  • Perform daily equipment rounds and basic equipment functions, including safely starting and stopping equipment and changing gas on the Bison machine.
  • Unjam equipment and perform general DIY maintenance tasks.
  • Test control cabinet lights and perform basic equipment inspections.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all general safety requirements.
What We Look For:
  • Willingness to learn and develop maintenance skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • General DIY, mechanical, plumbing, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to safely follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food processing environment.
Maintenance Technician 3

A Maintenance Technician 3 is a highly skilled maintenance professional capable of advanced troubleshooting, equipment analysis, and technical repairs.

  • What You'll Do:
  • Perform all Maintenance Technician I and II duties.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues using electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical prints and systems.
  • Perform electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tracing and machine analysis.
  • Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, VFDs, and equipment leaks.
  • Perform basic welding and advanced equipment troubleshooting.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain OSHA 10 certification
What We Look For:
  • Demonstrated experience performing Maintenance Technician I and II duties.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical prints and schematics.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose the cause of equipment malfunctions.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems, VFDs, welding, and machine analysis is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification or the ability to obtain certification.
