The City of Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department is hiring Seasonal Tournament Field Crew members to help keep the McAninch Sports Complex baseball and softball fields game-ready during weekend tournaments.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position for energetic individuals who enjoy being outdoors, working as part of a team, and taking pride in creating top-notch playing conditions for athletes and spectators. From lining fields to keeping facilities clean and safe, you’ll play a key role in ensuring every tournament runs smoothly.

The City of Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department is looking for energetic individuals who are interested in helping maintain the McAninch Sports Complex baseball/softball fields during weekend tournaments. The Seasonal Sports Complex Tournament Field Crew will be employed tentatively from March 30 to October 30. The start/end dates and hours per week are subject to change depending on weather, seasonal conditions, and the number of tournaments scheduled.

All offers of employment are conditioned upon successfully passing a background check and drug screening.

• Operate various field maintenance utility vehicles.
• Set up baseball and softball fields for games and practices.
• Drag/rake/chalk baseball and softball fields.
• Maintain baseball and softball fields during weekend tournaments.
• Facility and concession clean up after tournaments and events including trash removal.
• Maintain clean restroom facilities during and after the tournaments and events including trash removal.
• Performs other facility and site maintenance tasks as assigned.

• Valid driver s license and good driving record.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
• Possess the basic understanding of safe equipment operation.
• Work hours include daytime, evening, weekend and holidays.

• Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
• Routinely lifting objects from 25-50 pounds.
• Occasionally lifting objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditions.
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate effectively.
• Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to monitor McAninch Sports Complex field conditions and inventory maintenance requirements.
• Sufficient personal mobility, strength and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to work efficiently throughout McAninch Sports Complex.
