HR Manager, HR Generalist / Talent Management
Extol Of Ohio Inc., the Leader in Fabricated Insulation Systems and a ISO 9001:2015 compliant company is looking to hire a full-time (on-site) highly strategic and results-focused Human Resources Director. Located in Norwalk, Ohio, Extol provides moisture-resistant insulations such as Cellular Glass, Polyisocyanurate, Extruded Polystyrene, Perlite and Phenolic for mechanical piping systems to all 50 states and many other parts of the world.
The critical leadership role is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced HR professional to ensure compliance with regulations and to promote consistent operational practices across various departments, enhancing organization efficiency.
The ideal candidate will be a true leader capable of translating business objectives into HR strategies that support growth, innovation, and profitability.
This position demands a deep understanding of production operations, including the unique challenges and opportunities related to workforce management, employee relations, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives. The HR Administrative Assistant is a direct report.
In this role, you will be part of senior leadership, guiding decision-making on all HR related matters, from talent acquisition and development to compensation, benefits, and compliance.
This position is not merely about managing HR functions; it’s about strategically partnering with the business to build a resilient, high-performing workforce ready to meet the demands of a long standing, respected and growing production facility.

Key Responsibilities:Business Partnership / HR Leadership
- Be a change agent by creating and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the production business goals and objectives.
- Be a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and Leadership team by providing expert guidance on organizational development, change management, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Bring actionable HR solutions to ensure attrition and retention of talent, operational excellence and drive productivity gains.
- Implement and deliver best practices.
- Oversee all areas of talent acquisition from production labor to office staff. Reassess and maintain a successful and dependable sourcing program to attract and maintain top talent working with both external partners and internal team members to bring in the best talent.
- Reassess and maintain a top-notch onboarding and training program to maintain employee engagement and to successfully integrate talent effectively so they quickly become productive team members.
- Work with Plant Manager and Department Heads to address current and future staffing needs, skills gap, and succession planning.
- Oversee all employee relations to ensure fair and consistent application of all company policies, employment and labor laws.
- Work with all managers and provide expert guidance to effectively resolve employee conflict, appropriate disciplinary action, and performance management.
- Reassess all programs and tools designed to promote employee engagement, morale, retention and create a positive and productive work environment.
- Reassess the current performance management system to ensure goal alignment to maintain business strategy, so everyone pulls in the same direction.
