We are currently seeking an experienced Production Planner / Scheduler for a 9 to 12 month assignment with a manufacturing facility in Norwalk, OH.
This position will support production planning and scheduling activities to help ensure customer demand, inventory goals and plant capacity are aligned. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a manufacturing environment with production scheduling, material planning, inventory control or supply chain operations.
Responsibilities include:- Creating, updating and communicating daily production schedules
- Issuing, modifying and closing production orders
- Supporting monthly production planning based on plant capacity and customer forecasts
- Monitoring inventory levels and assisting with inventory targets
- Identifying material shortages, scheduling concerns and potential production constraints
- Working closely with production, customer service, finance and management teams
- Supporting customer portals and addressing shortages, receiving discrepancies and other customer requirements
- Assisting with freight, container management and related documentation
- Updating daily KPIs and production information
- Supporting physical inventory activities
- Ensuring new parts and production information are accurately entered into SAP and applicable customer systems
- Previous production planning, production scheduling, materials planning or supply chain experience
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- 1 to 2 years of related supply chain experience preferred
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with EDI or customer portals is helpful
- Strong communication, organization and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities and work with multiple departments
- Bachelor’s degree in materials, logistics, manufacturing or a related field is preferred but not required
- Full time
- Monday through Friday
- $61,000 annually
- This is a temporary 9 to 12 month assignment.
