As a Technician at Penske, you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a fleet of vehicles, ensuring that they remain safe and reliable for customers.

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs—such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficiency in following specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management.
• Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Maintenance of a current driver qualification file required (including annual MVR check, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History records, and compliance with FMCSA Clearinghouse).
• Willingness to work the required schedule, location, complete Penske employment application, submit to background screening, pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation, and potential travel within a near geography for training.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner; accept responsibility for own safety and the safety of others.

• Perform duties while frequently moving, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
• Use hands on a routine basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate required tools or controls.
• Work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
• Work safely in all weather conditions.
• Observe clear vision and hearing to navigate workplace with large trucks.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg), and push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 pounds.
