Location:

- Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Perform preventative maintenance repairs—such as replacing or rotating tires—and complete vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching.
- Support other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Penske’s Technician Certification Program is certified as a Continuing Automotive Service Education provider - Advanced vehicle maintenance technology
- Location and schedule flexibility
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors
- Basic computer skills
- Capability to understand and comply with Penske-specific instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations
- Ability to perform work in alignment with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies; including proper tool and PPE usage, machine guarding, and safety best practices
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Willingness to meet DOT requirements including a current driver qualification file (annual MVR check, DOT physical, Safety History records); CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screen within 30 days and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
- Willingness to work the required schedule, location, and participate in background checks and drug screening as required by DOT; potential travel for training
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive by the company, and requires the ability to work in a constantly alert and safe manner. Associates must take responsibility for their own safety and that of others.
Physical Requirements- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands to grasp, reach, handle, feel, and operate required tools
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Work safely in all weather conditions
- See and hear to navigate the work environment around large trucks
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push/pull tires over 100 lbs
