Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electronic and manufacturing equipment, including PLC-controlled systems, ovens, conveyors, and related machinery. This role installs and commissions new equipment, performs preventive maintenance, and continuously improves equipment efficiency while strictly following safety, quality, and operational standards.
Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronics and manufacturing equipment, including PLC controllers, ovens, conveyors, and related systems.
- Perform electrical maintenance on production equipment such as felt lines, molding equipment, presses, ABB robots, and water jets.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot 480V electrical systems, including work through electrical panels and cabinets.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, particularly on presses and other production equipment.
- Set up, install, and commission new equipment to support facility upgrades and production improvements.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motors, sensors, photo eyes, switches, proximity switches, color sensors, and related control components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot junction boxes, terminal switches, and associated wiring.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical wiring and components as needed.
- Perform general facilities maintenance, including lighting and other building systems, as required.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks in the CMMS system (Shire System).
- Apply lockout/tagout procedures and follow all safety protocols during maintenance and repair activities.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repairs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot 480V electrical systems, including panels and cabinets.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with troubleshooting motors, sensors, photo eyes, switches, and related components.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and safe maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform installation and setup of new industrial equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude for working with presses, compressors, and related machinery.
- Ability to use and maintain a personal toolbox and tools suitable for industrial maintenance work.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial environments, including use of schematics and technical documentation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting Siemens PLCs.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Ability to operate a manual mill and/or lathe.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems, preferably Shire System, for documenting maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.
- Experience working with robotics, particularly ABB robots.
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic presses in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working with industrial equipment such as felt lines, molding equipment, blending lines, and compressors.
This is a Permanent position based out of Norwalk, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.
