The South Shore Charter Public School seeks ON‑CALL K–12 Substitute Teachers for the 2025‑2026 academic year. Teachers will provide classroom coverage during faculty absences.
Key Responsibilities- Manage student learning in accordance with the school's goals and directives.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
- Enforce discipline and classroom control to create a safe, positive environment.
- Supervise students to ensure health, welfare and safety.
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, facilities.
- Report upon arrival to the office, review lesson plans, seek clarification of rules.
- Report injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline issues promptly.
- Implement lesson plans while maximizing academic time and motivating learning.
- Organize students for effective instruction.
- Dismiss students from classroom before leaving.
- Provide brief record of the day to the regular classroom teacher.
- Collect and return students’ papers, instructional materials, equipment and keys.
- Comply with and support school & division regulations and policies.
- Model non‑discriminatory practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/division policies.
