Preschool Teacher

Trade the four walls of a traditional classroom for woods, trails, and open sky. At the South Shore YMCA's Nature Science Center in Norwell, MA, you'll lead a preschool classroom built around real dirt, real weather, and real discovery. As a Preschool Teacher, you'll guide young learners through nature‑based exploration up to 80% of the day outdoors, rain or shine, the kind of hands‑on, wonder‑filled early childhood experience that stays with kids for life.

• Create & Implement:
  Develop engaging lesson plans that support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
• Nurture & Support:
  Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.
• Ensure Safety & Inclusion:
  Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.
• Collaborate & Grow:
  Work with a team of educators to create a positive, cohesive classroom atmosphere.
• Meet High Standards:
  Maintain compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.

• Meet EEC Teacher qualifications.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education (Associate's preferred, Bachelor's a plus).
• Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
• Classroom experience preferred but not required.

• This role requires the ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, reach, lift up to 25 lbs, and actively engage in activities such as climbing, running, and outdoor play.

• $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and education.
• Sick time accrual: 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
