Recess Monitor/Duty Aide

To support and supervise students during both lunch and recess and provide clerical support for classroom teachers and the main office.

Reports To:

Building Principal

High school diploma required; associates degree or higher preferred; high degree of organizational, interpersonal, and clerical skills; ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students; demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, educational experience, previous employment, and the interview process.

Supervise students during lunch and recess; work collaboratively with general and special education staff to understand, support, and implement strategies for students with specific needs as identified in their IEP; assist teachers and administrators with a variety of clerical tasks; perform such school office duties as duplicating, collating, laminating and word processing; assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, and other activities;

maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students; perform other duties as directed by the Building Principal or designee.

This is a 3.0 hours per day, five days per week, position in accordance with School Committee policy and the collective bargaining agreement.

Salary:
Step 1: $22.40 per hour – Step 8: $26.58 per hour.
