This position is for a Capital Projects Electrical Engineer. Engineers in this role provide technical interface with engineering firms on project development and prepare/review engineering documents using the applicable industry and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Know and provide expertise with molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, thermal overloads, low voltage power breakers and switch gear, medium voltage power breakers and switch gear, industrial battery chargers, industrial inverters or UPS, 125 Vdc battery systems, Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs), large dry type or oil-filled transformers, main generators, voltage regulators, etc.
- Experience with ladder logic and electrical schematics is highly preferred but not required. Prefer experience with NSCA/safe shutdown analysis (Appendix R/NFPA 805). Proficiency in power systems analysis (load flow, short‑circuit, arc flash, coordination studies) and tools like ETAP, EDISON is a plus.
- Able to work mostly in power systems engineering; instrumentation & control experience not required. Experience with sensors, analog/digital electronics, cyber security is not needed.
- Have at least 12 years of collective nuclear experience in U.S. nuclear power plants. Excludes international experience. Do not count other industries such as fossil, wind, solar, geothermal, transmission/distribution, petrochemical, etc.
- Prefer prior experience as a cognizant/oversight engineer or in engineering project management, but not required. Must have more design/project engineering than project‑management experience.
- Prepare or review/verify design output documents (design changes, calculations, specifications) developed internally.
- Experience with Next Era Energy or Florida Power & Light nuclear power plants (Seabrook, Point Beach, St Lucie, Turkey Point) is highly preferred but not required.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; PE preferred, may substitute for degree. - Relevant
Experience:
15+ years of nuclear engineering or related experience, with expertise in plant operations and engineering project management.

We estimate the base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, to be $60/hour to $65/hour.
