About the Role
Westinghouse is recruiting Senior Health Physics Technicians to work at various Nuclear Power Plants within the United States. Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power‑plant activities. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned based on individual certifications, qualifications, and skills. You will report to the Westinghouse site manager and be located onsite at various locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power‑plant activities. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned based on individual certifications, qualifications, and skills. Types of tasks RP Technicians may perform include the following:
- Radiation and contamination surveys
- Material and equipment surveys
- Release of personnel and material
- ALARA planning
- Help with decontamination activities
- Support Site Emergency Plan
Senior Health Physics Technician 3.1A or above. (3.1A requires 2,000 hours of commercial nuclear power combined with a systematic approach to training).
Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and industry standard.
Knowledge of radiation detection and measurement equipment, including calibration and quality control.
Pay RangeThe hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience and qualifications, is estimated to be $34 to $40 per hour.
