Role OverviewWe are seeking a talented and motivated AV Commissioning Engineer / Technician to join our security business unit.
Primary Responsibilities- Program, configure, commission, and maintain small to medium sized mission‑critical audio‑visual systems and projects.
- Program, configure basic system integrations between AV systems and other related components.
- Terminate associated cables and wires on rack components, control panels, and other system components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system problems at the software layer accurately and efficiently.
- Provide creative solutions to technical challenges; manage and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripheral devices.
- Apply SME in AV technologies to train end‑users on the products and solutions we provide.
- Implement technical solutions to ensure that the integrated system is delivered according to project specifications.
- Document project state for closeout through punch‑list management; communicate issues to PMO and coordinate resolution.
- Support PMO, Engineering, and Sales teams with project implementation and new sales opportunities.
- Mentor and teach other mission‑critical/AV focused team members.
- Create and implement installation best practices specific to mission‑critical/AV technologies and our products and solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2‑4 years in the AV industry with a deep understanding of technologies used, including Crestron.
- 2‑4 years in installation, support, programming, maintaining, and servicing of low‑voltage systems, primarily AV.
- OSHA 10 required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic knowledge of DSP modifications for audio system tuning in a variety of settings.
- Basic knowledge of control system troubleshooting and debugging multiple languages.
- Experience with basic networking design and set up, including VLANs, subnetting, dynamic DNS, etc.
- Ability to travel throughout New England (RI, MA, NH, ME).
- Reliable transportation if a company vehicle is not provided.
- Willingness to work off hours as needed (second and third shift).
- Participation in the service department on‑call rotation as required.
- Experience with Crestron, QSC, Shure, Biamp, Barco.
- Industry specific certifications preferred: AVIXA CTS, Crestron CTI, QSC Q‑Sys, Extron, Syn Aud Con .
- MA Class D, Systems Technician License.
- RI TST License(s).
Starting at $38/hr plus commensurate with experience.
