Backus Hospital, a member of Hartford Health Care, is seeking a Per Diem General Surgeon to join our established surgical team in Norwich, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible surgeon seeking flexible scheduling within a collaborative, well-resourced hospital environment.
Position OverviewPer diem coverage for general surgery call and acute care surgery
Inpatient consults, emergency general surgery, and operative cases
Support from experienced OR staff, anesthesia, hospitalists, and advanced practice providers
Access to modern operating suites and surgical technology
Efficient workflows within a community-focused hospital setting
This role is ideal for surgeons seeking supplemental income, schedule flexibility, or continued clinical engagement without a full-time commitment.

Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
Eligible for medical licensure in Connecticut
Eligible for medical staff membership at Backus Hospital
ATLS certification preferred
