Job Description:

Integrated Grades 4 & 5 Classroom Teacher

Innovate, Inspire, Educate at IDCS:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and student-centered teacher to lead an integrated grade 4 & 5 classroom for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year, with the potential to extend into a permanent position. This position requires teaching all core content areas and supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth.

Salary:
Salary, work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the IDCS Governing Board and IDCS Education Association. Pay will be commensurate with experience and will be prorated for the 2025-26 school year according to start date.

Reports to:

Executive Director and Assistant Director

Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging daily instruction in all core subjects, including:

* English Language Arts

* Mathematics

* Science

* Social Studies

* Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports student learning and well-being.

* Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and families.

* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

* Collaborate with grade-level and school staff to maintain continuity of curriculum and instructional practices.

* Manage classroom routines, behavior expectations, and transitions effectively.

* Communicate consistently and professionally with parents/guardians, administrators, and support staff.

* Participate in required school events, meetings, and professional responsibilities.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters

* Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CT SDE

Certifications:

(001, 013, 005) CT Elementary Certification

* Experience teaching or working with upper elementary school students.

* Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

* Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

* Flexibility and adaptability to step into an established classroom mid-year.
