Minimum Qualifications- Experience working with children, families, schools, or community organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish positive, productive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in data management, documentation, and computer applications.
- Strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
The Part‑Time Attendance Coordinator works collaboratively with school administrators, staff, students, families, and community partners to improve student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism. This position supports school and district attendance initiatives through family engagement, outreach, attendance monitoring, data analysis, and coordination of interventions designed to promote regular school attendance and academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with building administrators and attendance teams to develop and implement strategies that improve student attendance and punctuality.
- Coordinate with Deans to implement attendance plans and support the planning of preventative measures related to positive daily attendance.
- Conduct outreach to students and families experiencing attendance concerns through phone calls, home visits, attendance conferences, and other engagement efforts.
- Support the development and implementation of attendance incentive programs and recognition initiatives.
- Participate in strength‑based conferences to address attendance barriers and celebrate student progress.
- Monitor attendance trends and identify students at risk of chronic absenteeism.
- Assist schools in establishing and monitoring attendance goals, including targets for average daily attendance and chronic absenteeism reduction.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance interventions and family contacts.
Performing the job duties of this position requires the following physical demands: reaching, some lifting, standing, walking, carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and/or crawling.
Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
Occasional exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather.
Terms of Employment- Part‑Time, 10‑month school year position
- 7:30‑12:30 - Monday through Friday, based on the school calendar
- 190 work days
- Start date of 8/31/26
- 180 school days
- 8 days before the start of school + 2 chosen days based on the school PD calendar (total of 190 days)
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support services.
