The Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) is responsible for effective communications, call entry, and dispatching for all 911 emergency and non-emergency medical transportation requests.;
Operating within our 911 Emergency Communications Call Center, this telecommunicator position acts as a liaison between healthcare facilities and the medical transportation team.;
Communicate available resources and expected arrival times; schedule non-emergency medical transportations; ensure timelines are met or arrival expectations are set.;
Coordinate dispatch of EMS resources to emergencies and coordinate with hospital-based coordinators and medical directors as needed.;
Maintain timely and accurate arrival estimates and resource availability information.
