Sr AIX Systems Administrator

What Success Looks Like in This Role

• Administer, maintain, and support IBM AIX, UNIX, and Linux server environments.
• Perform system installations, configurations, patching, and upgrades across AIX and Linux platforms.
• Manage and support application servers in a secure, high‑availability environment.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure systems are properly secured, including patch management and system hardening.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to support system integration and performance optimization.
• Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide support for incident response as needed.

• Hands‑on experience with IBM AIX administration and UNIX server environments.
• Strong experience supporting Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, or similar).
• Experience with system administration in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with application server administration (e.g., Web Sphere, Web Logic, or similar).
• Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in highly regulated or enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., shell scripting, Ansible).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and storage systems.
• BA/BS degree and 4‑6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
