To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

Packaging Execution & Floor Presence
  • Actively perform packaging work and, when assigned and appropriately trained, assist Post-Harvest, Processing, Inventory, Cultivation, or other departments while maintaining a visible, dependable floor presence for Packaging Technicians.
  • Carry out the approved daily packaging plan and help organize workstations, immediate tasks, and break coverage within the Packaging Supervisor's direction and the Production Manager's broader priorities.
  • Provide immediate direction and real-time correction when Technicians are not following SOPs, batch instructions, safety rules, or quality standards.
  • Support training and onboarding assigned by the Packaging Supervisor and reinforce approved packaging, labeling, sanitation, documentation, and equipment practices.
  • Monitor work pace, quality, focus, and completion and keep the Packaging Supervisor informed of floor status and support needs.
  • Escalate recurring performance, staffing, quality, equipment, safety, or procedural concerns to the Packaging Supervisor.
Product & Workstation Readiness
  • Confirm assigned bulk or work-in-process is present, identified, and ready before work begins and report shortages, delays, or inconsistencies.
  • Check returned or released material against the Packaging Supervisor's direction and report incomplete, damaged, late, or inconsistent material.
  • Prepare workstations, equipment, approved labels, and packaging components for assigned work and promptly communicate missing needs.
Packaging Quality, Compliance & Records
  • Verify product identity, weight, count, seal, batch information, and finished-unit quality before handoff.
  • Use only approved labels and components and ensure correct application under Connecticut DCP requirements and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time travelers, batch records, counts, waste, rejects, work-in-process, and completion records.
  • Provide accurate packaging data and complete only seed-to-sale system entries specifically assigned and authorized by the Packaging Supervisor.
  • Stop and isolate affected work and escalate any product, label, count, seal, or record discrepancy.
Equipment, Handoffs & Shift Communication
  • Operate, clean, change over, and perform approved minor troubleshooting on packaging equipment.
  • Complete line clearance, sanitation, and changeover checks to prevent mix-ups, cross-contamination, and downtime.
  • Monitor line-side materials and report shortages or replenishment needs to the Packaging Supervisor before they delay production.
  • Stage and transfer completed product and records to Inventory only as directed by the Packaging Supervisor.
  • Report output, incomplete work, constraints, material status, and next shift needs to the Packaging Supervisor.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
