EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
The Nurse is responsible for all aspects of nursing care, medications, and implementing agency policies and procedures to ensure the safety/wellbeing of individuals with IDD. The Nurse will be available for consultation regarding first aid, medical needs and emergency care of individuals. The Nurse will ensure compliance with all state and regulatory reporting requirements and will represent staff in-services relating to medications and nursing issues.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a clinical setting, preferably serving individuals with developmental and physical disabilities
- Experience with Department of Development Services regulations, forms, and protocols
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Current State of CT RN License
- The Nurse must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- May be exposed to the risk of injury or exposure to occupational health hazards
Ensures confidentiality as required by law, The Arc ECT, and DDS policies and procedures, which includes keeping records, conversations, and correspondence (regarding program participants and staff) confidential.

- Maintains a professional and positive attitude when working with staff.
- Works with a spirit of cooperation with all departments.
- Carries own malpractice insurance.
- Carried out all job responsibilities in a professional manner.
- Maintains attendance and adheres to policies on attendance, days of absence, and illness.
- Keeps supervisor informed of any significant events or the need to modify any area of the operation/activity.
