The Registered Nurse - Graduate Nurse (RN, GN) position in the Med Surg A3 unit at Hartford Health Care is ideal for those looking to provide compassionate care to a diverse Medical/Surgical patient population while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

• Location: Norwich, CT
• Facility: Backus Hospital
• Department/Unit: Non Maternity A3
• Schedule: Full Time, Evening shift

• Demonstrate clinical competence through the nursing process.
• Assess and identify patient problems/needs.
• Establish a plan of care and implement care provided to patients.
• Evaluate care provided to patients.
• Follow Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols.
• Communicate effectively with departments, employees, physicians, managers, and patients.
• Handle multiple priorities and maintain flexibility as a team player.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Utilize innovative technology to promote patient and family-centered care.

Education:

• Graduate of a school of Nursing, BSN preferred

Experience:

• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program
• Two (2) or more years of experience in this clinical area preferred

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
• Ability to obtain and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
