AVS Bio Driver Warehouse Technician
- Title: Driver Warehouse Technician
- Location: Norwich, CT
- Industry: Pharmaceutical
- Salary: $24/hr.
- Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 4:30pm
- Employment Type: Direct Hire

Basic Summary:
This role will be responsible for transporting products between company facilities primarily on the weekends, but could include weekday coverage as needed, using a box truck that requires DOT medical certification. In the driver capacity, this individual will be responsible for loading and loading products or supplies at designated locations in a safe, secure, and timely manner. This individual will also have responsibility working in the warehouse.
This will include receiving, inventory handling, and order preparation while supporting transportation of eggs, supplies, and materials between company locations.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
- Pick up eggs from farms and unload at the packing and shipping facility.
- Assist with warehouse operations including receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, picking and packing orders, and staging shipments.
- Perform inventory updates, basic recordkeeping, and periodic cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Transport intra-company mail, supplies, and materials between company sites and vendor locations as needed.
- Adhere to strict Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations for entering the designated screening area of the packing and shipping facility and for transporting screened cargo.
- Perform regular safety checks on the vehicle.
- Clean and disinfect trucks per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and/or management specification.
Follow all company guidelines, Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). biosecurity procedures, and safety requirements. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and work environment.
- Provide backup coverage for weekday delivery routes and transportation duties when the primary driver is unavailable.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work weekends
Education: High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent.
Experience: Warehouse, material handling, or delivery experience of at least 1 year.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure: Valid driver s license and DOT medical clearance required.
Other: Clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job:
- the employee regularly drives a box truck and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- the employee is occasionally exposed to sanitizing chemicals
- the employee will regularly operate pallet jacks, fork lifts, lift gates and dock plates
- the employee will drive in all types of weather and road conditions
- the employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
