Assembly Lead Job Overview
The primary function of the Assembly Lead is to oversee all of the Associates in the assigned group, and make sure that work is completed in a timely fashion. This role is responsible for assigning tasks to the team, reporting problems to management, and fostering a positive environment within the department.
Responsibilities- Operate radio frequency (RF) scanner.
- Assign tasks to other Associates.
- Partner with other departments in Assembly to complete assignments and projects.
- Provide support to other leads and managers on projects and new procedures.
- Enforce safety rules and report problems to management.
- Train new associates.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Success in this role is driven by a combination of technical expertise, problem‑solving abilities, behavioral and leadership skills, and customer focus. You will need to demonstrate strengths in the following areas:
- Proactive communication, including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions.
- Read, write, and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures required by the position.
- General understanding of distribution center and warehouse operations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Drive and willingness to learn.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team or independently.
- Safety focused with knowledge of general safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a warehouse atmosphere.

- Safety minded.
- At least 18 years old.
Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance. Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center. Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations. Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions.
