Framingham Earl High School is a member of the Sapientia Education Trust (SET). SET is an expanding multi‑academy Trust with 13 Primary and 9 Secondary schools.
The RoleWe are seeking to appoint a part-time Science Technician to assist in the organization, compliance and development of the Science department. The Science Technician team work with the Science teachers and wider technician team as well as the Trust H&S team. Previous experience working as a Science Technician is not a requirement of the role. We are able to train the suitable applicant to be able to fulfil duties
Person Specification The personal competencies expected of all School support staff are:- The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others;
- Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team;
- Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
- Have a genuine and keen interest in Science;
- Possess a high degree of organisational ability;
- Resourcefulness and the ability to act on initiative;
- To be aware of COSHH regulations.
- GCSE pass at C or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
- Be familiar with scientific equipment;
- Computer literate - able to use Word and Excel.
- Experience of working in a laboratory would be a benefit although full training will be given.
