Title: Senior Estimator

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts

Type: Full-Time Exempt

Overview

High Pace Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to play a key role in the continued growth of our high-end residential and commercial construction operations throughout Greater Boston. With a strong and expanding client base in Norfolk County, this role offers the opportunity to work directly with ownership and leadership while helping drive the company’s preconstruction strategy.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed project estimates, developing scopes of work by trade, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and supporting the successful launch of projects from preconstruction through procurement. This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional who wants to contribute to the growth of a respected residential builder while working closely with leadership to influence project planning and execution.

This position is based in our Norwood, Massachusetts office and will require occasional on-site attendance to review projects, meet with clients, and collaborate with the leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for both residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, and specifications to develop accurate project budgets.
  • Prepare comprehensive scope sheets by trade using company templates to ensure complete coverage of project requirements.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis to support accurate project pricing.
  • Solicit and review subcontractor bids and vendor pricing.
  • Lead subcontractor negotiations and manage the subcontractor buyout process.
  • Collaborate directly with ownership and project leadership during preconstruction to refine project budgets and procurement strategies.
  • Attend project site meetings and client meetings when necessary to review scope, validate estimates, and support project planning.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of estimates, pricing assumptions, subcontractor proposals, and scope coverage.
  • Support the preconstruction process to ensure projects are properly scoped, competitively priced, and ready for execution.
Project Portfolio
  • Commercial work includes retail construction and tenant buildouts, including large format retail environments.
  • Residential projects include high-end renovations, additions, and ground-up residential construction throughout Greater Boston.
Location

This is an in-office position located in Norwood, Massachusetts. Project locations are primarily throughout Greater Boston, with a strong concentration in Norfolk County.

  • Strong subcontractor negotiation and procurement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and organization.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
