A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to lead bridge and structural design projects for state agencies and municipalities across the Northeast. This is a leadership role within the structural engineering group, offering opportunities to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Lead bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects from scope development through construction phase services.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Oversee preparation of contract plans and technical documents.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, ensuring quality control and technical accuracy.
- Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and subconsultants to drive projects to completion.
- Conduct field inspections and collect data for structural assessments.
- Participate in client and public meetings.
- Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 13+ years of experience in bridge/structural engineering.
- Strong background in structural analysis and design.
- Experience with MassDOT projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to perform field work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with RIDOT, NHDOT, CTDOT, or Maine
DOT projects. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Open Bridge Designer, SAP
2000, AASHTOWare BrR, and Excel. - Hybrid work schedule (up to 2 remote days per week).
