Mechanical Engineer

Pay Rate: $69/hr

Design, analyze, and develop mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace measurement and control systems used in aircraft and engine environments

Responsibilities:

  • Support DO-160 environmental qualification activities, including vibration, thermal cycling, shock, and mechanical stress testing, in collaboration with test and certification teams
  • Generate and review mechanical design documentation, drawings, BOMs, and engineering change records in accordance with company standards
  • Support laboratory testing, instrumentation setup, and test execution for environmental and qualification testing
  • Investigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective design actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, systems, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with aerospace regulatory and customer requirements
  • Support certification documentation and compliance artifacts for aerospace and defense customers

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience performing or supporting RTCA DO-160 environmental qualification testing (vibration, shock, thermal, altitude, humidity)
  • Experience with mechanical design for aerospace or aviation hardware
  • Experience creating engineering drawings and documentation
  • Experience supporting avionics, aerospace instrumentation, or aircraft engine-related hardware preferred
  • Experience supporting certification or qualification programs for commercial or military aerospace applications is a plus

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to work hands-on in a laboratory or test environment
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality and compliance standards (AS9100, configuration management) is a plus
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication
