Account Engineer

FM is seeking an Account Engineer specializing in Fire & Natural Hazards to help clients reduce property loss and improve resilience. In this role, you will conduct on-site and virtual surveys of industrial and commercial facilities, evaluating construction, protection, and operations for fire, explosion, and natural hazard exposures. You'll analyze risk, prepare clear technical reports, and deliver practical recommendations to clients and underwriting teams.

You will collaborate closely with account managers, support loss prevention initiatives, and stay current on fire codes, standards, and hazard modeling methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and virtual surveys of client facilities to evaluate fire and natural hazard risks
• Analyze construction, protection, and occupancy to assess property loss potential
• Develop technical reports with risk findings and prioritized recommendations
• Collaborate with underwriting to translate engineering risk into insurance terms
• Advise clients on fire protection systems, sprinklers, and emergency response planning
• Model and interpret natural hazard exposures (wind, flood, earthquake, wildfire, etc.)
• Support clients in implementing loss prevention programs and best practices
• Present engineering findings and risk improvement plans to client stakeholders
• Maintain accurate risk data, metrics, and documentation in internal systems
• Stay current on fire codes, standards, and natural hazard risk methodologies
