Position: Jurisdictional Consultant / Boiler Inspector

FM is seeking a Jurisdictional Consultant / Boiler Inspector to perform field inspections of boilers and pressure vessels for code and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will visit client facilities, evaluate equipment condition, identify hazards, and document findings in clear technical reports that support safety and underwriting decisions. You'll apply knowledge of ASME and NBIC codes, coordinate inspection schedules to meet jurisdictional deadlines, and communicate recommendations to client stakeholders.

This position is field-based, involves regular travel within an assigned territory, and offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel inspections at client sites
  • Verify compliance with state, local, and national boiler and pressure vessel codes
  • Document findings and prepare clear technical inspection reports
  • Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on remediation
  • Support underwriting and risk engineering with technical input on equipment condition
  • Communicate inspection results and safety recommendations to client contacts
  • Maintain inspection schedules to meet jurisdictional and client deadlines
  • Use inspection tools and software to record data and generate certificates
  • Stay current with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Promote safety culture and best practices with client operations teams
