HOURS ARE FROM 5:00 AM – 5:15 PM on a 2‑2‑3 work schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, then the opposite the following week).

New Hire Base Salary Range: $48–50 /hr (actual compensation depends on experience, skills, education, geographic considerations, and internal equity).

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic reports to the shift supervisor and performs highly skilled troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of complex electro‑mechanical equipment—including electronic controls, conveyor systems, production machinery, and support equipment. They act as the plant’s expert resource to fix the majority of equipment, teach and mentor junior mechanics, and ensure uninterrupted continuity of manufacturing and support systems.

Position includes an $8000.00 bonus ( $3000 paid after 6 months and the remaining $5000 at the one‑year anniversary with Home Market Foods ).

What You'll Do
  • Maximize uptime using expert knowledge and troubleshooting of electrical systems (power distribution, motor controls, variable speed controls, robotics, automated packaging machinery, pumps, valves, meters, and mixing equipment).
  • Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and restore systems to specified performance.
  • Lead diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to enhance equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Identify and replace defective components, ensuring high standards of machinery operation.
  • Participate in new projects to install or improve safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
  • Mentor and assist junior mechanics, fostering skill development and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Weld and fabricate (stick, MIG, TIG) and operate machine tools (lathe, Bridgeport, drill press) as needed.
What You'll Bring
  • Ten+ years of maintenance experience, ideally including OEM experience.
  • Expert in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs of industrial equipment and facilities; working knowledge of mechanical, electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration systems.
  • Experience in food processing required; packaging machinery experience preferred.
  • MA Fireman 2 License and/or Ammonia Operator 1 Certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs required.
  • Strong problem‑solving, judgment, decision‑making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others, and leadership.
  • Experience using CMMS, identifying trends, and using data to improve preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of cGMP/GMP requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and repair instructions.
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal) and ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, experiment, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new information quickly.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Bilingual English‑Spanish skills are a bonus.
